To get started, you’ll need a platform on which your product development team can develop and launch the IoT devices.
One popular hardware & software platform for creating interactive IoT objects and devices is the Arduino platform. This includes a physical board processor, shields, libraries of C code and an integrated development environment (IDE) for writing, compiling and uploading code.
Windows also has their Windows 10 IoT Core, an IoT-optimized version of Windows 10 that uses Visual Studio and the Arduino Wiring API. It runs on a few different boards, including Raspberry Pi2. Another option from IBM is their Quarks IoT tools– another enterprise-grade platform.
